Meet the Team at Studio Del in Penticton
Glen has over 35 years of experience as a master stylist and educator in Edmonton and Penticton. For 12 years he taught at various hairdressing schools in Edmonton, while also operating his own salon. His extensive training of students for competitions has kept him inspired and current in his technique. Glen’s cutting and styling skills spring from his ability to “let the hair tell you how it wants to be cut.” The results are natural, low maintenance styles that continue to look fresh as they grow out. Glen came to Penticton to teach at the Okanagan Cosmetology Institute but was drawn back to active styling work at the same time Del decided to retire. The majority of Del’s clients have stayed on with Glen since he started in 2017 and continues to evolve with many new clients.
Del has over 50 years of hairdressing career experience which began in Vancouver, then Prince Rupert and then back to her home town of Penticton since 1982. She purchased Hair World in 1983 and over the next few years, elevated it to a top contemporary salon in Penticton with 3 dramatic makeover fashion shows that showcased the talents of her and her stylists. The demand was high and getting appointments became challenging for new clients. The salon evolved from Hair World to Salon Delphine and now Studio Del. Quite a number of her clients have been with her for the majority of those 37 years. Her artistic talents spread well beyond hair and makeup. A very talented artist, she decided to pursue a Fine Arts degree while still hairdressing, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UBCO in 2001. A solo show at the Penticton Art Gallery followed in 2002. Some of her large, impressive works are on display at the salon. Del now serves a limited clientele, but oversees the operation of the salon and offers her experience to the stylists.
